Datawind, a low cost mobile handset maker, is going to launch low cost 4G handset which will be priced under Rs 3000. It will also provide free internet browsing on it for 12 months. Datawind is planning to launch this product early next year. This will the lowest priced 4G handset. Currently, the lowest 4G handset is priced at Rs 4000.
The company is looking forward to collaboration to many telecom operators for 4G services. Datawind is currently in collaboration with Reliance Communication and Telenor for 2G and 3G services.
Airtel had started its 4G services on 6th of August and now covers 350 cities. Vodafone on the other hand had launched 4G services in Kochi and by the end March will be available in all the metros. Reliance and Idea are also going to enter 4G voice and data services by December and mid 2016 respectively.
